Yes George but we got 21 other points whereas prior to yesterday Sunderland got 5 other points.Nothing cheeky about it, it was our worst defeat for years.

I think we'll do better in the Coca Cola Championships next year than WBA will, Cliff. Two of the bands in this weeks charts, Test icicles and Forward Russia have both played The Cluny in Newcastle in the last month. Maybe the Undertones should play there, it must be a lucky venue. I saw Forward Russia, but preferred the support band.

Davy Whiteside was telling me after the Derry gig that he'd just heard he'd got tickets for the Utd-L'pool game- had booked flights and was asking about hotels near the ground- bet he didn't care about a hotel after the result :)

Talking about new bands. I cant help feeling sorry for the Arctic Monkeys. Such a young band to be exposed to massive media attention 2 no1 singles and fastest selling album ever probably.Cant be easy and they must know everyone will be waiting for them to fall. They do seem pretty good and sarcastic/witty enough to cope with all the hype. Hope so. Saw them on TOTP tonight and have never seen so much acne ever. Not even our heroes could complete with the plooks on these boys. Could there be a link with dermatological problems, poor dress sense and great songwriting ability. Answers on a postcard please.

Plooks?? Can't be bad if they're from Yorkshire. All this loafing around is making me hungry. According to legend, the term upper crust is derived from C14th when the top crusty bit was reserved for the master whilst the minions got the soft bit. I must be descended from the upper echelons of society as I eat the crust from one end of the bread then open the other end and scoff that one too before sealing one of the open ends with sellotape. Clever eh?
