Cliff. Its the only way anyone will be able to see it if its on the big screen. So I've been told. Nothing on the official site yet Liam on 16:55 1st-Mar-06 GMT #b4d-37200 Has everyone seen the new site? Jackie on 20:12 1st-Mar-06 GMT #0e1-37202 Took my 13 year old to his first ever concert last night- African Soul Rebels II at the Sage Gateshead. What a bizarre evening!! Totally wrong venue as the audience must have thought the Northern Sinfonia were playing. James was fascinated with the number of men with white hair in suits/women in twinsets etc. Either that or 'trendy' types of a certain age (all looking like art teacher types or women with dangly earrings) not good! Jackie on 20:15 1st-Mar-06 GMT #0e1-37203 All 3 bands were great- Souad Massi , then Emmanual Jal. This caused the first ripple of the evening- knew the audience were in for a shock when the DJ decks were rolled on stage! Somehow or other he got the whole audience (even those in zimmer frames) on their feet dancing to rap.... jackie on 20:19 1st-Mar-06 GMT #0e1-37204 Lastly the AMAZING Amadou and Mariam ..they were just brilliant but the audience were once more seated and it took awhile to get everyone up. Being a scardey cat I too sat for ages but wasnt about to join the half dozen brave odd bods bopping about at the sides. Eventually though everyone was won over and they got a great reaction. The Sage probably witnessed its first stage invasion which must have been a bit scary for our blind heroes behind the mikes especially as this rare occurence wasnt dealt with for ages! my son reckoned it was 'cool' but I am still waiting to take him to his first Tones gig..... jackie on 20:25 1st-Mar-06 GMT [www.amadou-mariam.com/videos/videos.php] #0e1-37205 PLAY LOUD!!!!! Wayne on 20:35 1st-Mar-06 GMT #524-37206 Looks good on the face of it Liam, but lacks any real substance - IMO George on 21:29 1st-Mar-06 GMT #712-37207 Has the new site changed address?
