I can confirm that there definately was a gig at the Rainbow. Hammersmith Odean I recall was spoilt by Bouncers forcing people to sit down and not dance in the isles. By far the best gigs I ever went to were the Hammersmith Palais ones! And I've been to a few! One that I recall was with the Dolly Mixtures who got one encore, The Moondogs who I think got 3 encores and of course the Tones who I think did 5 encores (could have been more)because nobody wanted to go home! Can't remember going to the Finchley gig though. Cliff on 10:09 1st-Nov-06 GMT #64a-41083 It was a great game Arthur, but a ridiculous scoreline.Honestly there was only one team in it, Albion should have won easily, 5 or 6-1 would have been a fair reflection but unfortunately we have co co the clown in goal.Winning isn't everything at this stage of the season but we can't keep throwing points away, apparently the game at Brum should have been a 3-3 draw. Cliff on 10:10 1st-Nov-06 GMT #64a-41084 QPR manager John Gregory said:'West Brom are the best side by a long, long way that I have seen in this division. You are almost looking at a Premiership side and quite frankly they should get automatic promotion with the team they have got. If they don't then they are selling everyone short'.Says it all at the moment they are a joy to watch but they need the results. Cliff on 10:12 1st-Nov-06 GMT #64a-41085 I think I have a few t-shirts somewhere Arthur but not sure where.I'm looking for them for Hawk also, although if he keeps doing this ♪♪♪ I might change my mind ;-) Cliff on 10:22 1st-Nov-06 GMT #906-41086 Yeah those Dolly Mixtures were cute. The Finchley gig was just a one off if I remember rightly, it wasn't part of a tour or anything. There was a t-shirt made especially fot it, it was navy blue with white writing. How I remember such things I've no idea! wilke on 11:13 1st-Nov-06 GMT #30e-41087 wayne you got us vinny was santa and i was superman. thanks hawk talk soon see ya Lewis on 12:16 1st-Nov-06 GMT #c97-41088 Cook da Books, remember the single they had out when on tour with the Tones for The Sin of Pride,'Low Profile' was actually not to bad. George on 16:20 1st-Nov-06 GMT #836-41091 I have a couple of Cook da' books singles. So what tour did Orange Juice support the band? I think I saw them a few times on that tour. I know they were the support band for the Nottingham Rock City gig, when I got separated from the band, couldn't find any accommodation at 2am in the morning and asked the police if I could stay in one of their cells for the night. Cliff on 16:31 1st-Nov-06 GMT #949-41093 Orange Juice were definately at the Hammersmith Palais, they got a bit of abuse. Cliff on 16:34 1st-Nov-06 GMT #949-41094 I also got seperated from the band a couple of years ago, Its surprizing how fast middle aged men can run when they want to ;-) stote007 on 17:52 1st-Nov-06 GMT #d42-41095 Orange Juice were on the See No More tour in December 1980. Saw them at the Southampton Guildhall. That was when the band played Start! and Trouble in the sound check. jackie on 18:47 1st-Nov-06 GMT #578-41096 I hope someone from the band reads these posts. Did anyone see the Killermeters????!!! George you will do anything to get out odf paying for a hotel:-) Cliff on 18:54 1st-Nov-06 GMT #89f-41098 I take it you mean The Undertones played 'start'? I didn't know that, always enjoyed 'time is tight' though. Wayne on 19:10 1st-Nov-06 GMT #6db-41102 Superb bit of footage Alex- is that Vincenzo 'Tarrantino' on the corner of the stage at the end with the pocket size handycam? Cliff on 19:15 1st-Nov-06 GMT #89f-41103 I was looking forward to that also Wayne but it wouldn't download for me. Wayne on 19:22 1st-Nov-06 GMT [www.mercuryparadise.com/photo/MP_Lon22.jpg] #6db-41104 Definitely played the Rainbow Oct 79 and Tenpole was support- I too remember the difficulty of leaping about while standing in the stalls. (John said that TPE later played in the pub opposite- for those who remember it.) Don't recall who the support was at the Cambridge gig a few weeks before but when I mentioned it to John he thought it might have been The Dolly Mixture. stote007 on 19:40 1st-Nov-06 GMT #d42-41105 That's right, Cliff. At that stage, OJ couldn't even play their own songs. stote007 on 19:45 1st-Nov-06 GMT [www.youtube.com/watch] #d42-41106 Link to The Riplets new video. Watch it twice - it grows on you.
