I'd stick your money on Sri Lanka to beat the West Indies today, then all of it on the Aussies.Alex, I don't think you should get worked up about delboys comments, its nothing sinister.Talk a leaf out of my book and take a chill pill ;-) AlexD on 11:29 1st-Apr-07 GMT #111-44687 You have a book? Now you really are taking the piss. Cliff on 11:46 1st-Apr-07 GMT #1bb-44688 Yes,but its got lots of pictures in it. Liam on 12:17 1st-Apr-07 GMT [bp0.blogger.com/_R0Y0njzryP4/RgBS0RRpruI/AAAAAAAAABY/X9KnmyP5XgU] #c29-44689 For those if you who lik eyour punk rock with a touch of anarchy then check out the Castle Bar Derry on Sat April 7th. Liam on 12:20 1st-Apr-07 GMT #c29-44690 Interesting point CLiff makes about why people always think its OK to take the piss out off and belittle England. For me the obvious reason England as a country is hate so much around the world and closer to home is Englands nasty habit of travelling the globe murderering and oppressing people. I agree its not a reason to blame individual people but hey they are your government! You wanted a reason - there's 300 years worth! Cliff on 15:41 1st-Apr-07 GMT #12b-44691 Liam, we were talking about football & sport. George on 18:10 1st-Apr-07 GMT #71a-44693 I thought we had a british government, not an english one. We have a scottish pm. a scottish chancellor, waiting to take over as pm. A scot in charge of the home office. Murder and oppression existed long before england as a nation existed. I do get annoyed at some of the comments posted here, but thankfully over time i have managed to meet most of the contributors to the site, and don't take all the comments personally. So long as we all continue to meet and share the enjoyment of the Undertones every so often, I can take a bit of criticism in the meantime. Cliff on 20:09 1st-Apr-07 GMT #c27-44696 We just recorded Oliver singing all of 'see that girl' and some of 'whizz kids', I'm trying to work out how to download it onto the computer. He'll probably be a teenager by the time I do. Wayne on 20:16 1st-Apr-07 GMT #0bf-44697 Home and recovering from a whirlwind trip to Gijon. Flight out left 30 minutes late which meant I just missed the bus from the airport to Gijon and had to wait for 1 1/2 hours for the next one. Then had a job to get a taxi to the hotel, but got there eventually. Stood checking in and in walked the El Undertonios after having a 4 hour drive from the previous gig (the day before had been neary 8 hours !!). wilke on 20:16 1st-Apr-07 GMT #30e-44698 cliff try alex he seems to know about stuff like that Wayne on 20:17 1st-Apr-07 GMT #0bf-44699 Went down to the venue with the band, however we completely missed it and went on a windswept walk along the edge of the beach. The venue overlooked the sea and a Force 10 gale was blowing spray off the water so that it appeared to be raining and looked as though it had last been decorated circa 1974. The dance floor had a sparkly ball over it and the ceiling was a dome full of mirror tiles and in the evening, with the lights on, it had a certain faded charm. As I said last night, the crowd were excellent, mainly youngsters, restrained in their dancing for the most part, but sang along with all but the newest of the songs and saw the band smiling as the crowd roared the chorus to lots of songs. Saw Roger and his wife and met several english speaking locals, who had thouroughly enjoyed themselves. Cliff on 20:17 1st-Apr-07 GMT #c27-44700 thanks delboy, getting to Wembley would be nice.Very handy for sire, he only lives around the corner. Wayne on 20:19 1st-Apr-07 GMT [smg.photobucket.com/albums/v193/Wayne1234/Gijon%20Mar%2007/] #0bf-44701 Afterwards we found a bar near to the hotel to mark the end of the tour, which was playing 60's classics, all on vinyl, including lots of surf instrumentals, all set against big screen 50's B-movie film clips featuring young women whose acting talents weren't their main attribute ;) Was on the same flight back as most of the band and a great weekend was topped off when Mickey offered me a listen of the tracks that have been mixed so far for the new album- obviously I refused as I didn't want to spoil the enjoyment of the first play of it on the CD player when it comes out :) Link to a few pics. Cliff on 20:21 1st-Apr-07 GMT #c27-44702 Shame you weren't wearing your white suit and medalion Wayne, you could've showed them some moves. How does the new stuff sound live, I like the tunes(from the internet) but they seem to lack oommpphhh! Do they have that live? Wayne on 20:43 1st-Apr-07 GMT #0bf-44705 Thanks, Paul was jealous too, reckoned it bettered his Bullitt one (only worry is that I got it at TK Maxx so has probably cost me about £500, for all I know!).The songs are great live, and I'm not just saying that. I've heard several of them a few times now and they get better each time and blend in well with the old songs. One song I haven't heard live, Mickey said they've only played it once, is ''Tomorrows Tears''- another classic, IMO. Didn't get a chance to ask who wrote it as we got the flight boarding call. Cliff on 22:16 1st-Apr-07 GMT #365-44707 I reckon Derby and Sunderland, with Albion winning at Wembley.I've seen all the top teams and on their day Albion are far better than all the others.Unfortunately they do overplay at times and leave themselves open.Interesting that Hibs are a distant 5th this season without Mowbray. Cliff on 22:17 1st-Apr-07 GMT #365-44708 Did you bet on Sri Lanka? looks like its as good as over. Arthur on 23:53 1st-Apr-07 GMT #a75-44710 Liam - if it's not a reason to blame individual people, then why mention it. Does it apply to the political party to which you belong as I'm sure there are English people in that? I'm sick to death of reading posts by you which are nasty or insulting to other people and I've noticed a general anti-Englishness that is frankly rascist. It's not something I accept nor want to be part of.
