However if it makes royalties for JON then its ok (grudgingly) jackie on 20:38 24th-Mar-08 GMT #3e4-47785 I for one will not be watching TK. If you ask me TV today is run by a conspiracy /cartel consisting of dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Ade Edmondson, Griff Rhys jones and other assorted hangers on. They havent got an ounce of talent between them but they have obviously got their nose down someones shorts. I read somewhere that G R Jones is a multi multi millionaire and runs every production company commissioning new programmes by the BBC. Explains why his ugly face is on TV every 5 seconds. It stinks!!!!! stote007 on 16:55 24th-Mar-08 GMT #d42-47784 Has anybody noticed there's a new sitcom on ITV starting Friday called Teenage Kicks, with Adrian Edmonsen? It was trailed on TV while I was in the UK this weekend with an ersatz version of our favourite tune as the theme. It was slagged in Heat magazine and tipped as a bit of a sleeper in The Observer. Make of that what you will..... delboy on 16:10 24th-Mar-08 GMT #091-47783 Yes Hawk I saw Squeeze on Al Murray. Now there is a real band worth talking about.I admit there are very few new bands that I get excited about mainly because they all sound the same or sound similar to bands of the past. There are a few good bands out there at the moment though like The Enemy,The View and 1990s.But even they sound a lot like other bands ie The Enemy remind me of The Jam.The bottom line is everybodys taste in music is different.Fortunately everyone on here loves The Undertones so thats good enough for me.Rant over.See you all in Belfast.ps Happy Easter to you all. Cliff on 20:23 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #2f3-47782 Don't be so sensitive Roger. If you want to tell us all about a new band you like thats fine, but we don't all have to like them.I listened to all the songs on that blog and none of them did anything for me at all, there was nothing I havent heard and turned off 100 times before...each to there own mate. Wayne on 19:41 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #d81-47781 Roger- I see they are playing here in Bury st Edmunds in May- will try to check them out JoP on 18:42 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #da6-47780 Oh come on Cliff! We all know Pontius Pilate came from the top end of Belfast.... :-) Roger on 18:21 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #fc4-47779 ... well, Cliff, Mr B(?) etc.. i simply wanna talk (like other visitors does here) about a new band i enjoy. Maybe i 've bad taste, sorry to have bother you. And, I promise, you'll never heard about what i'm listening in 2008 (= THE BITE from Catalunya) Oops! sorry.... Cliff on 15:39 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #fbb-47778 This 'old man' has just been snowball fighting with his next door neighbour.Just watched a few minutes of 'the passion' with James Nesbitt, thats the worst piece of miss-casting I've seen since Mel Gibson in 'Braveheart'. Mr B on 13:50 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #806-47777 Not an 'Old Person'(not 30 yet!) and certainly not 'slashing' (or even slashing on!) a new band. I can see what you're getting at Roger but the Undertones were a new band making a completely different sound to the sort of thing the Old hippies were used to, which is possibly why they didn't approve. However, by their own admission even, and by their influences - The Undertones amongst them - Kick Superb are recreating an old sound. Which is all very well and quite enjoyable and fun in it's own way but it's not the Next Big Thing (although who knows with Wales??!) There are other bands doing the same thing and in some cases doing it better. If tehy DO make it big (even in Wales!) I'll buy a pint of the alcohol of your choosing :-) And who wants to be the fucking NME's darlings anyway these days? Tone Man on 19:36 27th-Mar-08 GMT #806-47776 Oh to be Big In Wales. Roger on 12:12 23rd-Mar-08 GMT #fc4-47775 ... Great to read here 'old people' slashing a new band (i love) in 2008! that's confirm me KICK SUPERB will be big soon not only in Wales but in Europe too. Remember the Undertones reviewed by 60s hippies late 70s (minor RAMONES league band) . Unfortunalty no KICK SUPERB dates booked in Brittany or France in 2008 :-( Mr B on 17:49 22nd-Mar-08 GMT #148-47774 Sadly, more of a 'Kick Mediocre' in my book. I think we've all been there before. donald on 12:28 22nd-Mar-08 GMT #dd6-47773 Reading Tony Viscontis autobiography just now, loads of Bolan and Bowie stories. Bowie is just writing 'Heroes' at the moment. Imagine sitting in room as such a classic is written and recorded. Bit like Terri recording 'Teenage kicks'. Alex didnt get e mail - its dmact'at'blueyonder'dot'co'dot'uk to avoid Phishers (Alex the pisher is ok:) Arthur on 11:51 22nd-Mar-08 GMT #1ac-47772 That article was in last Sunday's Observer and it also plugs the gig. For those of you coming over you'll get a channce to hear some of Terri's stories on the Bus Tour. The list of people he met ranges from Lennon, Dylan, Marley through to Nick Drake. hawk on 01:36 22nd-Mar-08 GMT #9bc-47771 Del - Did you see Squeeze on Al Murray's Happy Hour on Friday night?? allyramone @ on 19:36 27th-Mar-08 GMT #3f2-47770 hey check out the alturos on myspace. its gerry from the moondogs and his new band and they are great. great cover of the ramones, the boys and the sweet. check them out on www.myspace.com/alturoskickass Vinny on 00:28 22nd-Mar-08 GMT [music.guardian.co.uk/pop/story/0,,2265795,00.html] #136-47769 Good article here on the planned HOOLEY FILM JennaG on 19:36 27th-Mar-08 GMT #603-47768 Must confess that I wasn't very impressed. the name put me off before I even listened! They just sound like they're trying to recreate the sound of all their influences in one go. Nothing groundbreaking at all. I can't see the NME picking up on them at all. (I can't remember my password so I can't get white posts!) delboy on 22:15 21st-Mar-08 GMT #091-47767 Got to agree with Cliff.Sounds like Hard Fi and probably a few other new bands .Most sound the same or as my daughter says Im stuck in an80s time warp.
