The rerelease of Teenage Kicks is an exact copy down to the Good Vibes sleeve and Terri blagged a couple of copies of the new anthology, one of which he gave me. It's excellently packaged with a complete CD full of demos, outaKes and live tracks with a lovely version of Bittersweet on it. One for all you nerdy stalkers out there!

That clip is brilliant. Michael Bradley, 'Derry would be a bore without the riots!' and it just shows up the rest of the contributions to the film. I was around at Terri's for yet another opening cum thank you for the gig. It was actually a great night with Billy Harrison from Them playing guitar out on the street and younG Bradley turned up too. It was a shame I'd to leave early but that's being 47 for you.

A debate has opened on the appearance of the Unofficial forum and to be frank I don't really care one way or another, I was only trying to set something up in case this one went bye-byes. Please contribute to the debate as I have an option to revamp the site without the word 'unofficial' in the title so the Google results would be much better. It would mean everyone having to re-register.

In fact - democracy in this country being what it is - I have decided that Cliff and I think it was Jackie (weeks ago) are right. Please visit the new site over the next day or two and see the change.

Cliff - re the comments on the other site - I am more than happy to prune it down to a single topic and just leave the archive of this site as a non-postable topic. You may have noticed that I have already deleted several topics where there had been no posts.

Mickey as ever cuts the crap and takes the piss. Brilliant. (*thinks - Cut the Crap - could be a good name for an album - mental note made....*)

Brilliant. Glad to see the band not taking themselves as seriously as Strummer. So much for all that working class crap. He sounded posh as anything. But sexy :-)

Liam - Apologies. Not being able to see the route , I thought you were talking about cycling!!!!
Liam on 09:27 5th-Sep-08 GMT #0e3-48916
Yeah it's got an engine alight - nice big 1450cc one. Although route will still probably take me ages. Anyone know what the weather is like crossing the Pyrenees via Andora at this time of year? Anyone know of any Petrols gigs planned for Ireland? How about a Petrols Xmas gig in Derry? Since there isn't likely to be an Undertones one.

Holidayed in Marseillan Plage about 20 years ago, but can't remember if I flew there or got the train. Can't remember which campsite I stayed at but know it's included in some camping holiday brochures. Stayed in Clermont-Ferrand earlier this year but went there by train. They have a superb tram system in Clermont-Ferrand. My car journeys in France are limited to the Loire valley, Calais-Berny Riviere and Disneyland Paris, and in the south of france from whichever pub the outlaws went to on a nightout back to the campsite, since i was the only sober one there. Enjoy the trip Liam. Don't think I'll make Dingwalls. Little sis is taking me to see OMD at the end of this month.

Cliff on 21:16 4th-Sep-08 GMT #a1a-48913
Hawk, I think Liams bike has an engine.

When this site closes and we all switch over to Phils(good work Phil)why don't we just all stick to the same page regardless of the title? I much prefer this format where you can read all posts on all subjects..no offence Phil, I think you said pretty much the same yourself a few weeks back.
hawk on 20:27 4th-Sep-08 GMT #4fb-48911
Liam - Tried the link but it doesn't open. Have been camping in France for the last 15 years - west coast and South mainly - always take the bikes, and use them all the time.Really enjoy bike riding in France. Not very hilly - really good fun. Although, got knocked off once by a hit and run driver - not so good!! Where are you travelling to?

Anyone traveled much in France? Hawk? Going on a wee bike trip from next week and was hoping to take a route something like the attached Google map.

The Vingle is indeed available on iTunes as well as on the link provided below. iTunes is slightly more expensive at £1.99 for two tracks plus the video. The version of Teenage kicks is the standard 7' single version, the video is the one we all know and love. The live track (Brooklyn 1980) is relatively lo-fi but does demonstrate that even back then they were a damned fine live outfit. Really for completists only or those like myself who find it a compulsion to contribute to their pension fund.
